Alf Booth received the perfect Christmas present in December 2008, when the RAF Benevolent Fund provided him with a brand new electric wheelchair.
After losing a second leg to diabetes in the summer, Mr Booth was informed by his local Primary Care Trust that he did not meet the criteria for an electric wheelchair. However, when he told a local charity worker about his RAF service they recommended that he approach the RAFBF for assistance.
After examining his case, we approved the purchase of a brand new dual purpose chair that can be driven by Alf or pushed by his wife Una. The chair was delivered a week before Christmas.

“This is the perfect Christmas present. I am looking forward to getting out again as I have only been out of the house once since July. This will make so many changes to my life.”
