Carl Harding

Carl Harding served in the RAF as a teacher at RAF College Cranwell. He commuted to work on his motorbike every day for a year until one night he was hit by a van, head-on, at the crest of a hill.

The collision left Carl paralysed from the chest down, and he spent the next year in hospital recovering. It was during this period that we began to provide the Hardings with much needed financial support.

Having sold their house in the uncertain period following the accident,we purchased a bungalow for the family, and adapted it for wheelchair use. the RAFBF owned the house and an appropriate rent, based on what they could afford, was agreed.

“The support we received was essential,” explained Carl. “We’ll always be so grateful that the support was there when we needed it.”
