Corinne Knight

Sgt Bob O’Connor was killed when the Hercules aircraft he was travelling in was brought down over Iraq in January 2005. Corinne Knight, his partner, was left devastated. But instead of being able to grieve, she had to deal with a lack of support and funds.

In addition to the trauma she felt, Corinne’s financial support ceased. With any possibility of a pension delayed and uncertain, her debts rapidly accumulated. It was then that we stepped in to help relieve the pressure by clearing all debts and providing an initial financial footing for her.

Corinne said:

“If the RAF Benevolent Fund hadn’t stepped in, I honestly don’t know what would have happened. What really meant the most to me was that the charity saw I had been with Bob for 15 years and had no hesitation in treating me as if I were his wife.”
