DCAE Cosford Engineering Student Team

A team of engineering students from the 1st School of Technical Training in Cosford completed a 250 mile cross-channel cycling challenge to raise money for the RAF Benevolent Fund, raising £1,500 in the process.

The nine-strong team started their challenge at Tower Bridge, London and peddled their way via Dieppe to their finish Line at the Eiffel Tower, Paris.

Michael Abbot-Lane, one of the team organisers, said:

“The idea for the challenge came about when we were given our leave dates for this year. We thought it would be a good idea to do something adventurous and challenging but also beneficial for the RAF.

“We chose to raise money for The RAF Benevolent Fund as it’s the charity that looks after serving and retired RAF personnel – and who knows, one day we might need their help ourselves.”
