Ian Rennie Hospice at Home Special Donation
This year Ian Rennie Hospice at Home (IRHH) received a grant from the RAF Benevolent Fund towards the nursing care they provide in the Chilterns area.
In announcing the decision, Director of Welfare and Policy Air Commodore Paul Hughesdon said: “The RAF Benevolent Fund much appreciates Iain Rennie’s support and care of members of the RAF family and has approved a grant of £22,000 as a contribution.”
The RAF Benevolent Fund also agreed to fund IRHH’s appeal for syringe drivers at an additional cost of £2,636. The equipment enables patients to have their vital drugs injected automatically at home.
Sue Varvel, IRHH’s Director or Nursing, said: “We are so very grateful to the RAF Benevolent Fund for their continued support of our work locally, and for funding our appeal for more syringe drivers. The money will make a huge difference to our patients and their families, who rely on our nurses to allow them the choice of remaining at home with a terminal illness.”
