RAFBF Regional Team – Scotland, Northern Ireland and the North of England
Group Captain Bob Kemp joined the RAF in 1965 and spent 20 years as a weapons instructor flying fast jets. He later joined the Royal Auxiliary Air Force part-time, commanding the City of Edinburgh squadron, rising to become aide-de-camp to the Queen before his retirement in 2007. Bob joined the RAF Benevolent Fund in January 2006 as Regional Director for Scotland, Northern Ireland and the North of England.
Helen Bain got into the world of fundraising after taking part in an overseas charity challenge in 2006. She worked as a Community Fundraiser for Marie Curie Cancer Care before joining the RAF Benevolent Fund in April 2008 as the area’s Regional Fundraiser.
Together with Phil Maskell, the Regional Administrator, the team raises awareness of RAFBF services among the serving RAF and people who have left the Service. They also support anyone who fundraises or raises awareness for the charity.
