The RAF Benevolent Fund has joined forces with The Royal British Legion to provide a Benefits and Money Advice Service (BMAS) for serving and ex-Service personnel and their dependants. The two charities jointly fund posts at some 30 Citizens Advice Bureaux, across England and Wales, which provide specialist money management and benefits advice.
One such post is filled by Simon Davies. Simon sees RAF clients as part of his work as a specialist caseworker at the West Oxfordshire Citizens Advice Bureau.
Simon says:
“In effect we offer a ‘CAB plus’ service, because serving and retired members of the armed forces are given a fast track scheme where caseworkers have real time to devote to their issues.”
