Battle of Britain Memorial Flight

This year we are the official charity of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. Squadron Leader Al Pinner MBE, Officer Commanding the BBMF, said:

“The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight is first and foremost here as a flying tribute, a lasting memorial to all those who have lost their lives since the start of air warfare to the current day.

“What we cannot do is provide the support network required by those who have lost their loved ones.  The tremendous activities of the RAF Benevolent Fund are very close to the hearts of all who serve in the knowledge that, should the worst happen, there is a safety net for our families to help them through the dark times.

“The BBMF is very proud to support the RAFBF in its 90th year and to choose it as our main charity for this season.”

Did you know: The BBMF has five Spitfires and two Hurricanes, but Fighter Command actually fielded more Hurricanes than Spitfires during the Battle of Britain.
